I understand the impetus is to not freak everyone out, but I feel like this sort of shit is toxic neutrality somehow. I don't know what to call it. But it's bothering me. Just listen to the things they are saying they want to do. They will find a way to do them. Believe what they say!

The language ostensibly used to empower and comfort people facing peril can sometimes come across as dismissive. Though, of course, we don’t want to sink into despair, I think it’s important to take a beat to let people process and express their concerns.
