Rupert Thomson's 'Secrecy' is a wonderful novel which features the creation of these figures.

My friend's parents randomly met Trump in the 90s and said he was charming, so I guess he could be, in the right context (and probably in small doses).

These days I feel like that's probably mostly gone - he can be fascinating, but only morbidly so, like watching something rot.

It speaks to confidence. He doesn't feel the need to pretend he knows a word when he doesn't. Quite right too.
