“In 20 minutes we have a progress meeting with exhibit development. I am putting on this artist and we’re all going to act very VERY fucking normal. And we’re going to see how long the devo team goes before they crack.”

Then we get Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon. Famously covered in Neon Genesis. Which of course I had listened to that version in the years that Spotify existed.
So Mr algorithm cracks his knuckles and decides he’s gonna show off.

Spotify saw this and took note. And then looked at the other algorithmic hits from MY Spotify account (before I started working here the shop used one free pandora account like animals) and Spotify went to fucking work.
We get moonlight sonata. Then we get another performance of moonlight sonata-

But I try to be fair and equitable. I don’t always want to aux-dj. Plus, I’m sure everyone is tired of the same 4 playlist I rotate through.
However- Rob fucked up. Rob didn’t pull up an album or playlist. He typed “m-o-o-n-l-i-g-“ and stopped when moonlight sonata popped up and hit play.

He didn’t put on some yacht rock, or old school punk. He pulled up moonlight sonata on Spotify. Twiddled his thumbs proudly at what he did until one of us walked into the woodshop before getting to work on a project.
