My newest piece is an homage to coffee culture and cafe goers everywhere! It’s an 18” x 24” print that I’m releasing in a limited edition of 250. There are 90 different figures in the drawing, drinking everything from iced coffee to matcha lattes. This labor of love took about 90 hours to create.
In 1989, I saw an exhibition of Rockwell’s civil rights paintings. I knew his work very well, but I had never seen most of these paintings. I stand with his family. This is a misuse of his work.

Please support this wonderful bookstore. The staff is kind and knowledgeable, the selections are well curated, and their children’s book section is a delightful, which is not a word I often use. I did an event there in 2024, and they made me feel like a part of their local reading community!
@loyaltybooks.bsky.social is a fantastic store with a great team & they could really use your support right now. Paralyzed by choice? They offer curated book bundles & a "Leap of Faith" subscription box.

I had such a good time at the South Berkeley Public Library Zine Fest that I only managed to take one picture, of this cool sign by artist and festival organizer Avy Jetter! Thank you, Avy, for this wonderful event! See you next week at SF Zine Fest!

What a thrill and an honor to be part of the program of readings and panels at the Schomburg's 100th. From the parade at the opening to the amazing panelists, to our own reading and discussion in the children's reading room at the Countee Cullen Library, it was day I will never forget.
This revered Harlem institution holds the ashes of Langston Hughes, the personal papers of Maya Angelou, art by Jacob Lawrence, and more. Now, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is turning 100 and is celebrating in a big way. bit.ly/4levdww #schomburg

A video about my contribution to this upcoming anthology:
"Ball In Now" by @ajuanmance.bsky.social is about women's rugby, Title IX, and "tackling the @#$% out of people."

In my other life, I make autobiographical comics that are funny, silly, and occasionally wise. My next comic, on my years as a college rugby player, will appear in this anthology. Please support our Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/sta...

This was my immediate thought upon reading about this. There are some critically acclaimed and highly celebrated Black artists in the planned exhibition. Why would the museum not want to mount the show. hyperallergic.com/992061/show-...

The fact that Edward’s was willing to secure private funding to skirt the red tape and they refused is telling.

My parents had these songs on heavy rotation. "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" melts my heart every time. Only in the last ten years did I learn she was a child prodigy who entered Howard U at 15, on a full scholarship.

Thank you for the lasting gift of your music, Ms. Flack.

R.I.P.
a friend reminded me today that Roberta was the first artist to win back to back Record of the Year Grammys with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" in 1972 and "Killing Me Softly With His Song" in 1973

I love the 70s.

RIP dear Roberta

It's Black History Month! To celebrate, I'm posting this drawing from 2017. If Hon. #ShirleyChisholm and #SojournerTruth were alive today, I think they'd stand with all who face injustice. This drawing imagines them joining the #DAPL protests of 2016 and 2017. #Blacksky

Stop challenging books and we'll stop doing this panel and go back to talking about comics just for fun reasons!

(There will be fun on the panel too, but c'mon y'all, please?)
