My issue with BYU comes down to: Their only really good win is against Utah and they got blown out by Tech.
If they had any sort of non-conference or another big win I'd be intrigued by their argument.

I hate the term "Friendsgiving"
It makes no sense

The only downside is that it means the Angels have to try and fix a pitcher which they've shown exactly zero ability to do but if you get that for Ward, it's a win
