As to being politically homeless, imo left of centre voters can and will just swing back to the NDP if Carney governs to far to the right. He is taking people who care about climate change for granted with this budget at the very least.

I’m not so sure he can. I will be surprised if he can keep his caucus together, much less convince enough other parties to vote for the bill.

I dont think its Harperesque because Carney is not muzzling scientists etc. Harper was worse.
I do agree though that Carney is governing significantly to the right of the average liberal voter, and clearly feels like he can make Parliament kneel and accept this budget.

As a black person, the thought of being patient with the conservative justices currently ginning up to finish gutting the VRA is pretty deeply upsetting.
I dont think they have the capacity to change and I dont think they see people like me as equally human and deserving of rights.
