As a librarian, we used to tell people looking for info that a domain with a dot gov ending was a more reliable source. That is no longer true. We can’t trust the govt. Other countries can’t trust us.

Detainees at Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” are on a hunger strike over what they call inhumane, dangerous conditions.

Some haven’t eaten in 10 days. One of them, Pedro Hernández, was hospitalized and still refuses food until they are treated with dignity.

Enjoyed this!

Ultimately?

Write a good book!
Does working in publishing actually help you get a book deal? I realize this can be a very sensitive topic, but in this post I've tried to be as helpful and open as possible.

How's the #amwriting crowd today? I worked on a query letter for #mg #horror I'm only 1/3 done with. Seems to take me forever to nail down a good one!

Back in the Twitter days my daughter would read for people their first chapters up to the first five for $5 a chapter. She would like to do that again to earn money for the draft horse she still wants. If you want a 13yr olds perspective on your #mg or #ya let me know and we can connect.

Remember when #Twitter was a glorious place for #writers and the #amquerying crowd? I miss those days. I left Twitter a long time ago and I won't go back but I miss the glory days. But I still have friendships and #cps I connected with there that I will always be thankful for!

I've worked with Jamie and she's great!
Sharing more widely now! Working in managing editorial, I don't always get to interact with authors, and I miss it. So in addition to working in house, I'm reopening to freelance editing!

If you need a developmental or copy editor, I'd love to hear from you:

Just #DNF a #mg book by a male author who says of the female character "she crosses her arms" instead of leaving it at that he added "under her breasts" why? Why is that necessary.? Way to show girls you will always be looking at their bodies.

Schumer and these 10 Senate Democrats overplayed their hand. They think people will forget and move on. They won't. Schumer just sealed the end of his leadership. It's done. Just a matter of when. Tick Tock.
