It’s not all tomatoes. Every fall I freeze my fingers taking down the pole beans. Didn’t keep track of the varieties. The black ones are Cherokee Trail of Tears. A summer’s worth of fresh green beans, dried bean hummus as well as that blossom display. (Big Pole Bean Inc. has me in their grip.)

I think of Great Uncle John Dobie on Remembrance Day. Here he is, a blurry photo on postcard paper taken before being sent to the trenches. He was shell shocked into his eighties.

One last morning cleaning up the tomato patches. A tie is necessary for such moments especially at 5C. Plenty of tomatoes untouched by frost and a nice set of purple and pink velvety Magnolia pea blossoms. #Gardening

BREAKING: trad-wife DC lobbyist can’t find potential trad-hubs in conservative circles.

UPDATE: front door tomato patch now cleared out. This is nuts.

Fine. I maybe planted too many tomatoes. Three more tarps to lift up out back. The freezer is already filled with sauce. #Gardening

No, Telegraph free summary email headline writer. Conservative babble-fests aren’t thinking. No, Canada is not your fantasy hell hole of social engineering. Nope. I’d recommend the sad columnist seek another career path but can’t think of one that might be assisted by their presence.

Always take a photo of the sky when you are looking for something up there. I was staring at the wrong spot looking for Comet Lemmon this evening - but there it was in the trees in the upper left corner of the photo.

That does not appear to be the case. If one can trust trade association info, spirits are up. www.distilledspirits.org/wp-content/u...

One of the odd things about the veneration of the 2015 bat flip is it’s treated like it was part of a dominate play off run. The ALDS (quarter finals) that were followed by a loss in the league championships. Then there was the other Joey Bats images that stay with you. But I’m a, you know, Sox fan.

A four photo Montreal tribute in agreement.

Dare I?
October 9, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Agreed. You’re fine with my gardening Pr0n though, right?

And back up again above freezing right away. Join me in prayer for that basil under three layers!

Forecast was for +3C but I took measures anyway. Dipped to -0.3C just before dawn at the airport so I’ll have to see what survived out there in a couple of hours.

Played the Wildcard and it worked well for me. Might Bench Boost next time.

The forecast for Thursday's low has risen from +4C to +6C primarily due to me spending $60 on Sunday on crop cover tarps to protect the last $50 worth of green tomatoes still on the vine. But they are still coming in. This huge tomato awaits its fate. Just shy of 1.5 pounds. A Kentucky Beefsteak.

Both braces and bifurcated men’s trews. That is a tough demand. But it has been done!

I failed you. In the local zone I was in it was the crusted pie as illustrated. There are also two distinct forms of rappie, a big dumpling and a casserole depending on where you are in the Maritimes.

Someone in the administration is pranking him, goading him with “conspiracies” recently explained in The New Yorkers. Gotta be.

The Tomato Preservation Society has gathered. Orange Icicle romas in the ice bath stage. Chillern Beefsteak in the middle sauce step, skins removed. Baker Creek Kentucky Beefsteak chunks in a pot set on low. Each 2.5 pounds of fruit makes 3 cups of sauce. Flatted ziplocks frozen for winter sauces.
