By using my dissatisfaction with the ROI on political donations as a conversational opener, I was able to get my entire extended family to admit roughly how much they each donated to you in particular. It was a LOT (we inherited some mineral rights that recently became productive.) I will now be donating an equivalent amount to Al Green, because every single Senator and Representative should have gotten themselves thrown out of last night's joint address, too-- Democrat or Republican. You KNOW that what is happening is an outrage. You also know that tariffs, cuts, and this President's general penchant for chaos are going to hurt your voters, not just the liberals in Houston. We saw on January 6 that the supporters who put this administration in power react...kinetically...to betrayal. When jobs, benefits, and services immiserate those people, it is not going to go well for any of us. There is an opportunity for heroism here. Nobody wants this, not even the people who voted for it. Whatever network of coercion and corruption is keeping elites in line can be exposed by just one of you coming out with it. Whatever embarrassing photos or texts are being held over your head will be forgiven for the FIRST one to admit what we can all see is happening. It will likely be diminishing returns after that. Doesn't heroism sound better than whatever this is?

Maybe we can’t transfer the means of production but when I show people this meme I advocate for WIC to be expanded population-wide with vouchers added for housing, utilities, toiletries, transportation, and clothing. Never get a good answer for why that’s impossible or even objectionable
