The soil mat not have been great but it didn't have to worry about light or water. 😊

I read and liked Stone Yard. I haven't got the patience right now to take on a 700 page novel but it was already on my TBR.

It is the perfect photo for you -- streaky light and white tipped tails.

This my all time favorite photo of one. I think it looks like a swan.

We have them in our woods too. For us, it's the dittany (Cunila origanoides) that produces them.

Since you enjoyed her humor, you might check out Custom of the Country. The House of Mirth is excellent and arguably her best novel but it is dark and sad.

it's snowing here
November 29, 2025 at 11:05 PM
The NWS forecast lessened the snow amount a lot. Chance for snow during the day is 20% (morning), 60% (noon) and back to 20% again until 6 p.m. when it becomes likely. Total accumulation if it snows most of the times it's possible would only be around an inch and likely little more than a dusting.

Looks like the snow is rather iffy for us but getting the snow shovel up to the house is a good idea. Thanks for the reminder.
