High Refresh Rate VRR | RayTracing | HDR

the only thing that is more awesome is 480/540 hz oleds that do this refresh rate natively at 1440p

1080p is a bit too soft though

now the PSU fan is the loudest fan in the system (although it's running only sometimes under/after load) and I can't do much about it

Twin Motor Performance Ultra, mostly city driving.

Total AVG consumption is 20.8 kWh/100 km. WLTP consumption is 17.5 kWh/100 km so 19% over WLTP.

Summer AVG is 20.3 kWh/100 km and Winter AVG is 24.1 kWh/100 km.

I live in the center of eastern european city (Belgrade) and own an EV. there's almost no such thing as home charging here. 99% of the parking is just roadside with no infrastructure. which is common for europe. But we have plenty of cheap public AC stations, so it's still a fracture of fossil cost

start/stop vs continuous roll matters a lot too

my Volvo EX30 can have 14 kWh/100km if I drive at a constant 55 km/h on free road

but it will consume 20-24 kWh/100km in the same weather if I stuck in a start/stop traffic and average speed is like 10 km/h

latency* still feels like 60

but there is one more aspect - sample and hold blur. it will not only be smooth as 500 fps, but also blur-free, and it has some "feeling" to it too

overall, if your base input latency is low, there is definitely some use case for FG

Speaking of VRR - there is that thing on my PS5. But it has a range of 48-60hz/fps most of the time. So.. why even bother? You did 99% of the job just to have completely useless tech when '60' fps game drops to 40. Or 30 is not actually 30 but rather 29-31.

I am very fun at parties!

Then, solid 60 is great, but what about 144/240/360hz? Have you seen 480hz OLED in motion? Now you don't need that precice frame cap, just run unlocked. Wait! But then VRR is your last 1% and a must have.

I just feel sad overall for the amount of performance/efficiency enthusiasts in the industry. all focus is on easy things

it's hard to find meticulous render devs even in large game studios. lucky if someone knows what shader compilation stutter is or notice when new open world UE5 game runs bad
