Did anyone say Jaws? Jaws 4: The Revenge made my jaw drop. I won the ticket on a radio phone-in, and had a brilliant seat in the Empire Leicester Square. Sadly, I still left before the end, something I rarely do. I think Lorraine Gary was enjoying a beach party at the time, but it’s been a while.

Thank you so much! Such a brilliant idea, and I love the sound of your paper on Hitchcok and Lang.

I only know this play in relation to Orson Welles. As I’m sure you know, the first film he shot was material to be integrated into a stage production of the show, but the inserts were abandoned in the end due to technical difficulties. The surviving footage looks great of course.

This season has just started in London, and I will be going to some, but not, sadly, The Toll of the Sea. whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/defau...

She does! Checking the quote now, I see the phrase is actually from earlier. It's when the oilman boasts about being able to buy off unhappiness, and asks if she’s unhappy. Leigh says she was frustrated as it became a tongue twister for her, but Hitchcock wasn’t concerned about doing a few retakes.

I agree that they are both brilliant in this sequence. Apparently, she found the line ‘Not inordinately’ a bit of a challenge.
