Building in public • Sharing the journey
Completely relatable! Part of the growth and learning is understanding that:

Stopping early saves months. Quitting ≠ failing; it’s reallocating.

💭 What’s your go-to move when motivation dips?

#startups #shipit

✅ Decision sprint:
pick one pending fork and decide. Momentum is mostly clearing stalled choices.

#productivity #makers

🗣️ Signal sprint:
DM one target user with 1 question: “What’s the last workaround you used for X?”

Zero surveys, just one answer.

🔧 Support sprint:
Fix the smallest user-facing friction (label, copy, load time). Quick win, less churn risk.

Third time's the charm? 🤞

This time I'm doing it right:
• Reading guidelines ✅
• Exploring gradually ✅
• Starting slow ✅
• Learning from mistakes ✅

New to Bluesky? Learn from my mistakes. Explore & engage slowly.

If you see me going too fast... stop me! 😅

The lesson: Study before you leap.

I should have:
✅ Read guidelines first
✅ Explored gradually
✅ Started with 1-2 replies/day
✅ Spaced replies hours apart

Instead I:
❌ Explored everything immediately
❌ Replied to 4 posts in 10 min
❌ Looked like a bot twice

Oops. 😂

Here's what I learned the hard way:

First: Exploring too fast = bot-like behavior.
Second: Rapid replies = spam detection.

I was so excited I forgot to:
• Read guidelines first
• Understand limits
• Start slow

Enthusiasm is great. Without research? Chaos. 😅

So I appealed. Explained I'm a real person, just curious.

They unsuspended me. Even whitelisted my account.

I thought: "Great! Now I can engage properly!"

*replies to 4 posts in 10 min*

Bluesky: "Suspended again"

Me: 🤦‍♂️

3 hours. Suspended twice. Same account.

3weeks is 21 days.. it's achievable 🚀 ✊️

Exactly! I'm building NameWatchlist and keeping it simple: one VPS, straightforward deployment.

The "if it works, leave it alone" philosophy is underrated. What's your favorite simple setup tool?

This resonates so much! I'm building a domain search tool and constantly fighting the urge to over-engineer.

What's your process for deciding when to add complexity vs keeping it simple? Do you have a rule of thumb?

If you're on a similar journey (9-5 → indie hacker), building something, or just curious about indie hacking - let's connect!

Always happy to chat about building, shipping, and the messy middle of product development.

Say hi! 👋

So I built NameWatchlist 🚀

A tool that:
• Saves your domain search history (auto-save, cloud-synced)
• Monitors availability with automated email alerts
• Never lose track of a great domain idea again

Still at my 9-5, building this on the side.
