I recently let some directors know I go by Adam Michael Rowe these days and one of them said “AMR. I like it.”
I could live with that as a moniker.

Authentic Casting in voice acting based on race, gender identity & sexuality is a good thing.
But as most animated characters are attractive & idealized, directors avalanche into “No uggos. No fatties. No oldies.”
Authentic Casting™️ should not mean Only Work for Attractive People™️.

I learned something good about my voice recently.
I always knew I had a certain quality beyond “baritone” or “mature”.
I also knew I had a certain way of speaking that wasn’t an accent or impediment.
I also knew that this made me sound not normal or natural, despite it being so for me.
