Tens of thousands of people in Kabwe, including thousands of children, are suffering as a result of contamination left behind by lead mining, most of which occurred during British colonial rule. The mining company responsible and the UK must ensure justice and restitution for the people of Kabwe.

Finance companies are raking in huge profits even after debt restructuring, because countries are not getting enough debt relief.

Debt restructurings should not leave countries still just one climate or economic shock away from another debt crisis.

➡️Why is debt justice so important?⬅️

Start 2026 by learning about one of the most fundamental injustices facing Southern Africa: the debt crisis, a core legacy of colonialism

But across the region & the UK, people are campaigning to reform the economic system - learn about the Maputo Manifesto:

Important action by @unisontheunion.bsky.social and overseas care workers on #InternationalMigrantsDay. Even migrants mums who arrived before current restrictions have been denied visas for their children. Migrant workers are holding up our NHS - they deserve better!
📹📢 Yesterday, hundreds of overseas staff working in social care and the NHS travelled to Westminster to lobby MPs over plans to restrict visa rules for care workers.

💜✊ Today, on #InternationalMigrantsDay, we recognise the migrant workers whose voices were at the heart of that lobby.

But because she's a single mother, her children didn't get visas for almost two years, causing great pain. Many mums are still in this impossible situation
