The thing is, this is exactly how decisions were made before VAR and most people were fine with it. But VAR promised to fix all the errors which was always going to be impossible. So now, everyone expects more.
It’s tough to see how that Xavi Simons challenge gets upgraded to a red card but Hwang Hee-Chan’s against Arsenal last weekend stood as a yellow.
There is neither rhyme nor reason to referee decisions from week-to-week.
