BREAKING: State senators failed to override Gov. Pillen's veto of a bill ending Nebraska's lifetime SNAP ban for people with certain drug convictions. Seven senators who had previously voted to end the ban voted to sustain the governor's veto.

History was made last night. For the first time in its more than 150-year-old history, Omaha has elected a Black mayor: John Ewing Jr. We are ready to work with the mayor-elect and his team on shared goals, including protecting rights and freedoms. And - if needed - we will hold them accountable.

BREAKING: LB 89, which mandates discrimination against transgender Nebraskans, just cleared its first-round vote. But if we can change just one vote on round two, we can stop this bill.
