Televised Winter Olympics Will Be More Accessible
NBC Universal is making watching the Olympics more accessible. This is very good, and I applaud this decision, but I hope there is more televised Paralympic competitions.

State of the State Address
The Governor’s State of the State address made no mention of persons with disabilities. Don’t be surprised. It’s not unusual, but it is something we have the power to address – and we need to do just that.

Train the Trainer was a catch phrase a few years ago. Maybe Kirby has been taking a Train the Trainer course? While having dogs, especially service dogs, go through their paces on a regular basis is important, my dog has decided that I have the order of the paces wrong. Available on Member Tier.

Parking Privileges for Pregnant Women?
Some states, like Florida and Illinois, have laws that give temporary disability parking permits to pregnant women, allowing them to park in accessibility parking spaces. Other states are considering such laws. Why is this a bad idea?

Let Brown Community Grieve Without Conspiracies

Four people have died, 9 people were injured, and communities have been left to grieve the losses. Still, there has been a lot of finger pointing and the whole event has been politicized.

Inclusion or Exclusion in Extracurricular Activities?

Whether due to racism, sexism, or ableism, violence is increasing in this country, reaching down into our schools. Let’s do something about all these isms. Who will start? The federal government? States? Cities? Schools? Parents? Maybe all of us?

Alice Wong, a prominent disability activist whose work is known to the disability community across the world, died on November 14, 2025.
I’m sure she never heard of me, but much of her work informed the work I do. RIP Alice Wong
