State of the State Address
The Governor’s State of the State address made no mention of persons with disabilities. Don’t be surprised. It’s not unusual, but it is something we have the power to address – and we need to do just that.

Bitch on Wheels Asks -The orange-faced monster thinks having an ASL interpreter when he speaks will make him look bad, and the Secretary of State thinks using a font that helps people with dyslexia is not worth the bother. Available on Ally and Activist Member Tiers.

Train the Trainer was a catch phrase a few years ago. Maybe Kirby has been taking a Train the Trainer course? While having dogs, especially service dogs, go through their paces on a regular basis is important, my dog has decided that I have the order of the paces wrong. Available on Member Tier.

Justifying Disability
Some members of the general public think too many people claim to be disabled. People with disabilities are tired of justifying their need for accommodations. Where does reality lie?

Six years ago today, Kirby was brought to my home, entered my life, and took over my heart. I hope he thinks I'm taking as good care of him as he is of my. Best Service Dog EVER!

Parking Privileges for Pregnant Women?
Some states, like Florida and Illinois, have laws that give temporary disability parking permits to pregnant women, allowing them to park in accessibility parking spaces. Other states are considering such laws. Why is this a bad idea?

Eligibility for ABLE accounts has been expanded to include anyone who incurred their disability prior to the age of 46. That’s good news. For some people. But not everyone will benefit.

Bitch on Wheels – Disabled Is Not the Same as Elderly
Are people with disabilities, small children, elderly, teenagers, regular adults? The truth is that we are all of the above. But many people want to lump us together in some category. Available on Ally and Activist tiers or one-time purchase.

Let Brown Community Grieve Without Conspiracies

Four people have died, 9 people were injured, and communities have been left to grieve the losses. Still, there has been a lot of finger pointing and the whole event has been politicized.

Who Is Left to Defend Disability Rights?
After the Orange-Faced Monster took office, the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice was essentially gutted leaving only about 300 attorneys for all civil rights defense. Attorneys left or were reassigned.

This is a longstanding problem. It makes me feel sorry for the TSA miracles that they have such a need to think we are privileged. Maybe that's their disability?
it sucks that some people will fake a disability but it doesn't suck nearly as much as the idea that every disabled person should have to be on-call 24/7 to prove their disability to every miserable self-appointed robocop who sees them in public and thinks "i bet they don't need that wheelchair"

Bitch on Wheels - Respect?

Why do people insist on treating adults with disabilities as children or puppies? I’m tired of being petted, called dear or honey, and treated as though I am not capable of anything. This is going to be an “I’m tired” kind of episode.

For crying out loud! It's a big deal to change a font? My goodness! Let's all insist on Ariel no TimesNewRoman. People with dyslexia have an easier time reading it. Or, is that their point? Prevent access?
Disability activism is not a bad thing! Don't let them change the words to mean something else
The US secretary of state says the ‘wasteful’ switch from Times New Roman pandered to disability activism
