I like to go fast. Moved to Boston in 1976 to attend MIT. Decided this was home. The Cradle of Liberty. Retired software engineer. Some of my software flew on the Space Shuttle. Motorcyclist, photographer, hacker, reader of all kinds of things.
And you are right, I don't know for certain that the account isn't AI generated. I do know the web code is poorly generated. The CSS causes you to scroll down to the bottom after the page loads, which is super annoying.

Oh yes. I must vet every line. But it does save me a lot of typing. And it will also write in languages I don't know well, such as PowerShell, which has been very useful on occasion.

I also think that's quite odd. Normally you want to override to *extend* the base functionality, such as to operate on complex data types. I've done that before.

That would be an appropriate example to teach.

When I started my software career in the 1970s, having a program that could ingest a specification written in English, and output a working program was a goal.

And now we have that.

When I ask ChatGPT to write Python for me, it writes idiosyncratically correct Python. If I have provided a detailed enough specification, the code will often work, too.

It could also be someone who first learned C++ or Java, and is applying OOP principles inappropriately to Python.

You don't mutate self to store results in Python; you simply return them.

Why define the override as returning an instance of the class? That's not usually how one wants to define an override.

I mean, you certainly can, but it doesn't seem particularly useful.

I would think the gerbil was in there from the start.
