Lots of new followers coming in so I am going to re-up this.

I am not a reliable source of information. I will link to the pleading if it is real.

I am barely a reliable source of entertainment.

My personal BlueSky etiquette:
1. If I make up a fake social media post, it will be in dark mode.
2. If I make up a fake pleading, it won't be in dark mode because that would look silly. Look for context clues.
3. I will quote skeet Mitch, he's a big boy. He can handle it.

Some BlueSky etiquette that I do my best to follow:

1. When possible, I link to articles and primary sources;
2. When possible, I link to materials that do not have a paywall;
3. When possible, I react to insulting inflammatory responses by blocking; and
4. I reply rather than quote posting.

Cashier wanted to card me for buying Italian sparkling mineral water. Which makes me wonder why the bottling of them is the same as rot-gut 40oz malt beer.

Not to ICE Agents (and this was pre-Trump). If you try and take upskirt photos of a flight attendant on a plane, you are committing a federal crime (interference with a flight attendant). So please keep it legal and classy fellas.

I don't know man, maybe the news just isn't for you

Journalist: Here is DHS’s response to my media inquiry about event.

Reply: Why are you sharing fascist propaganda?

Journo: I assume people can read and engage in a modicum of critical thinking.

Reply: it would be better if you said “here is DHS’ fascist lie!”

Journo: See my previous reply.

My boss: so how's our fourth quarter looking?

Me, the sales manager at the company that makes inflatable frog suits: well, you're never going to believe this, but

If it was Austin Bragg from Reason who was alleged to have thrown objects at the cars, no question. But Debbie Brockman from WGN? No way.

That's what this is. Hegseth just described it stupidly.

Nonsense. The number one issue for most American voters is whether’s their neighbor’s grass is too tall. Followed closely by identifying the person not scooping their dog’s poop on the sidewalk.

These are kitchen table issues that our national politics ignores.

I understand that he’s been much different policy wise than people anticipated, but that’s kind of independent of his physical and mental function, unless one thinks the stroke made him more moderate.
lawzag.bsky.social
Fetterman’s stroke was four days before the primary. I think that was true for the general, but I think it would have been very difficult to evaluate in four days.

And frankly, the recovery from Fetterman general election to now has been remarkable from a functional standpoint.
lawzag.bsky.social
I didn’t think this shitpost would get this much traction. This was just supposed to be a random unvetted thought I threw out into the void.
lawzag.bsky.social
Fetterman had a competitive primary. He won comfortably, but Conner Lamb was a real candidate.

It just feels weird to be on the other side of this.

The United States builds military facilities in YOUR country. Your county doesn't build military facilities in United States territory.

I think this is probably correct. Of course, I think the collateral order doctrine is atextual nonsense. So I will be happy if someone every gets Mitchell v. Forsyth overturned by SCOTUS>.

I don’t allow associates to use AI. But I think AI can be a useful research tool, not a useful writing tool.

When I use Boolean or natural language search in Westlaw, well less than 65% of the responsive cases are useful. AI should be used as a tool to help you get to the right cases.
lawzag.bsky.social
These aren't products I use, but have researched for an ethics presentation. Both footnote each sentence and give the source. They tell you to read the cases to make sure the generated response is correct.

If you struggle with legal research, they are good products. So long as you aren't stupid.

The problem is that both Lexis and Westlaw AI have relatively high instances of hallucinations as well. (note, Westlaw AI answers are about twice as long as Lexis answers, so more words = more chances for the AI to mess up in an answer)

Yo dog, I heard you like hallucinated citations, so we put hallucinated citations in your response regarding hallucinated citations so you can show cause while you show cause.

ME: Now Mom, just remember, there's a lot of disinformation and AI in your social feed and your friends' Facebook.
MOM: I know! My friend sent me this crazy post where someone used AI to make an image of a giant frog fighting Army troops!
ME: ... okay, no, that one's ... goddamit, Portland.

Question 1: what are you contractually not allowed to talk about?
lawzag.bsky.social
Partner: Who do we refer criminal cases to?

Me: What kind of crime?

Partner: Assault. Probably a 1.

Me: A 1?

Partner: Yeah, whatever the lowest one is.

Me: Okay. Just remember that crime is like DefCon, the lower number usually means more serious crime.
