Mom, knitter, nature lover, murderer of invasive plants. Happiest in a chaotic garden.
Nope. It was already an area with settlements and infrastructure, taken over by promises to aid local tribes in their conflict with tribes from the south. They didn’t “found” anything, just took it with lies. (I have an ancestor who did the same in South CT, “founding” an existing Pequot community)

On the other side of my family, everyone came in the early 1900s, and were subject to the same racism and criticisms being leveled at Central American immigrants today. (Those dirty diseased criminals!!!)

Either way, “heritage American” sounds like they’re describing turkeys.

I have ancestors who “founded” towns in Connecticut too. Basically they made a deal with the indigenous people who already lived there, and took over a fully built town with fishing and trade infrastructure, and streets and buildings.

Has anything on this show *not* been awkward?

Lovely!

There was no better moment in my knitting life than when my son put holes in the elbows of his cardigan that I’d made him. He wore it nearly daily instead of a coat :)

He only eats so many eggs because he has celiac and all these French people have to have baguettes and pastries with everything

Bbbbbbut maybe he’s dyslexic, and has deep insecurity over his illiteracy because everybody always just assumed he was dumb and he has spent his whole life over compensating as a result, and he secretly loved Belle because he knew she was the only one who could teach him to read?

It’s very tedious! But so pretty :)

The same people who criticize poor countries’ leaders/wealthy for buying fancy jets and ignoring the poor would happily do the same here in the US, and in fact are gleefully driving us in the same direction.

My neighbor’s daughter is there and I don’t think they’ve managed to contact her yet. This is awful

I think it’s just quick and relatively mindless to make.

That said, I DID NOT get all the love for Musselburgh either, until I made one. :)

For selling, your best bet is things that are relatively quick to make. Otherwise the pricing can’t account for the amount of time spent. Think- hats made with bulky yarn and baby stuff. If you’re good with color, Christmas ornaments can sell well and should be quick to do.

My grandmother used to make baby hats and things for the hospital. And someone was doing that for the hospital where I gave birth- I still have both the hand knitted baby hats they gave me for my kids :) they got a lot of use and were well-loved :)
