Ten years ago, I dropped out of comp sci to pursue ghostwriting full time, and I regret nothing. I get to slow down, read and write for a living, and surround myself with good books, good music, my wife, and my daughter.

The world is loud. I moved out here, far away from the city, hoping there would be no more gunshots and screaming adults. There aren't. But the children, oh the children of the suburbs, they are loud all the time. I am a writer. This is incredibly difficult. The live-in landlord is super old.

It's too cold. I have to work on a Saturday, and I'd much rather bury myself under my blanket and read the last 300 pages of Alchemized.
There's fog outside. Not a good day to run out of baby formula and diapers. But oh well.

I'm stuck in the interim, I don't have a whole lot of work to do, and I'm not sure that I want work at this point, because being a toddler's parent is deeply exhausting. I think I'm done with ghostwriting. Like, forever, maybe. It recently started killing my goddamn soul.

Just finished reading Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.
I rate it 5 stars.
The story did everything I've ever wanted from a speculative fiction novel. I won't be getting rid of the statue ridden dreams anytime soon.

I'm reading Cormac McCarthy's Child of God, because I've been feeling like I need to read more of him, and the other three books of him that I have, I've already read.

Apologies for the disappearance, my 30-something followers. I've been dealing with plagues and floods. I must've tried God's patience a little too hard there.
Got sick with Covid last month and then all hell broke loose when my country got hit with floods.
