I haven’t lived in Aberdeen for nearly 10 years and one of the things I miss most is the Blue Lamp. Devastating to hear it’s closing down.
The Blue Lamp is closing on 30th December after 75 years. Rising costs have made it impossible to keep going.
Aberdeen doesn't have an abundance of live music venues, and losing this one hurts. Once these places are gone, they're gone.

My dad told me a story about having a drink with Mr Lovell at some local dive bar when this sequence was being filmed for The Man who Fell to Earth back in the 1970's.
My dad said Mr. Lovell had a lot to say about space and what he saw there...
