Rest in Power Jamil Abdullah Al Amin October 4th, 1943 - November 23, 2025 Today we honor a warrior the state tried to silence but could never break. Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin— once H. Rap Brown of SNCC and the Black Liberation Movement — walked through this world with fire in his chest and truth on his tongue. Stolen from his community, caged for decades, and denied the medical care that could’ve saved him — yet he never surrendered his faith, his discipline, or his commitment to the people. Even behind bars, he remained a symbol of resistance. Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin died on November 23, 2025, not a “prisoner,” but a political captive of a system threatened by Black liberation, self-determination, and uncompromising truth. May his spirit live in every struggle against oppression. Rest in power, Imam. Your fight continues in us. ✊🏽🔥

Crackdown in Indonesia, anarchists appeal for solidarity October 27, 2025 From Freedom News (UK) (source) Anarchists in Indonesia are calling for international support for comrades imprisoned and tortured following the August uprisings. In the wake of mass protests against corruption and inequality, around 900 people are being detained and named as suspects, many of them anarchists or sympathisers, spread across various cities. The latest solidarity call named over 40 anarchists arrested in West Java, accused of being part of the so-called "Chaos Star” network, which the government describes as a "foreign- backed anarchist group”. According to an activist source, the arrests were triggered by social media posts showing actions such as Molotov cocktail attacks. The detainees face charges ranging from property destruction to online incitement. While many are still awaiting trial, some of the accused face up to 20 years in prison. The imprisoned comrades have been isolated, and their access to legal representation has been severely restricted. Many are young, and their families report widespread torture and abuse, with some forced to give false confessions. Among those accused of "leading" the network and the recent anarchist uprisings are Bima Satria Putra, an anarchist jailed since 2021 on cannabis charges. Recently transferred to solitary confinement at Lapas Merah Mata, his family and lawyers have been blocked from seeing him. Another is Reyhard Rumbayan, known as Eat, who was arrested in Makassar on 23 September 2025 and is currently held in solitary confinement and denied contact with others. The unrest began in August 2025, when widespread anger against former military leader Prabowo Subianto's regime sparked protests that quickly turned violent, and later spread to Nepal and the Philippines as well as Morocco, Madagascar and Peru. The Indonesian government has since responded with mass arrests, media manipulation, and brutal policing. The crackdown is seen as part of a broader government effort to suppress anarchist movements, echoing past anti-communist purges. International solidarity is crucial, as anarchists call on supporters to send letters and postcards to the imprisoned comrades.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Assata Shakur — revolutionary, writer, and freedom fighter. After surviving state violence, wrongful conviction, and years of imprisonment, Assata escaped the Clinton Correctional Facility for Women in New Jersey on November 2nd, 1979. She was freed by members of the Black Liberation Army, who posed as visitors, took two guards hostage, and commandeered a prison van. After a period in hiding, Shakur resurfaced in Cuba in 1984 where they embraced her and was granted political asylum and refuge. For over 45 years, despite being placed on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list they were were never able to capture her. She remains a symbol of freedom, resistance, and defiance against an empire built on prisons and police. She is a testament to liberation and courage against an empire that tried to break her. Assata lives on in every struggle for Black liberation, every fight against prisons and police, every act of solidarity with oppressed peoples worldwide. She will remain in our hearts forever. Our first Running Down the Walls event was rained out, but that DID NOT STOP US! We spent the day at the park, flags flying high, and sharing zines and food with curious neighbors. These crucial steps build community, helping us spread the word about abolitionist prisoner support and challenge others to question the inhumane prison industrial complex. Friends @cienfuegos.coop provided zines and coffee for the day! This year we raised a total of $750 for the Anarchist Black Cross War Chest, which distributes funds to political prisoners every month! Next year our goal is to raise over $1000 for those fighting inside. While nature may have had other plans, some of our members and attendees didn’t let that stop them; they completed the 5k under torrents of rainfall, honoring the commitment they made to those inside who were participating on this same day. Members of our chapter who have moved out of South Florida also participated in their new regions, running down the walls from afar! Hello, everyone. Thank you for your support. Whatyou all are doing makes a huge difference for political prisoners and their families. The War Chest has been an invaluable resource during my incarceration! These past three years would have been incredibly difficult without your love. Peace and respect to you. Yet again we have travelled another circuit of the seasons and come to the time and place for another operation of what has become an institution outside of the barricade: the Running Down the Walls run/walk/roll in support of fewer walls and cages and greater freedom and community. The need for our side of the barricade to come together to do as much as possible is becoming ever more acute. The forces pillage and plunder are raising an increasingly dark social storm cloud that segregates the human family into inherently different and necessarily competitive groups surrounded by both physical and cultural walls over which only enmity and conquest fly. The image is hard to avoid. But that just makes it easier to resist! And so we will when we lace up our shoes, pull on our gloves, and RUN DOWN THE WALLS, conscious of our brethren, sistren, the men all moving in the same direction with a rhythm that will push back the storm, erode the barriers between people, and move the movement a little farther down the road to revolution. Since 1999, prisoners and supporters throughout North America have participated in the annual event known as Running Down the Walls (RDTW) often running or walking simultaneously in many cities and prisons at once. Many places will be hosting the 25th annual RDTW on Sunday, September 15th, 2025!
Greetings, brothers and sisters, on this beautiful day. It's time to push for the limits and run down the walls. I love this event, and I hope to be free one day to run alongside you all. But for now I'm praying from the inside of these ugly death camps, sending you all my energy, prayers, and words. Be strong at all times and especially today. Envision in your mind's eye those walls. being taken down forever. Remember East Berlin, Germany, where there is evidence that it can be a manifest reality. It can be real! I love you all. You all are my heart. I thank you all and love you very much. Xinachtli is a Chicano-Mexicano, anarchist political prisoner sentenced to 50 years in prison for aggravated assault on an officer when he disarmed a sheriff attempting to shoot him. Since in April 2016, he has been going by his chosen name Xinachtli, which is Nahuatl for seed. His indigenous name is Oso Blanco or Yona Unega in Cherokee. He was known to the FBI as 'Robin the Hood' because he informed the bank tellers he was expropriating funds to assist the poor and indigenous people fighting for independence in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas. He has support within the Virgin Islands and mainland U.S. should he be granted clemency like his former co defendant was in 1994. Jesse was an antifascist political prisoner who was incarcerated for allegedly participated in a militant community defense against American Guard, Proud Boys and assorted right-wingers who descended upon the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, Kumeyaay Land, for a day-long fascist rally on January 9, 2021. Along with being an unapologetic defender of his community TC is a nature enthusiast, father and artist who needs our support after spending nearly two years risking his life fighting the fires in so-called LA and throughout so called California. Despite the SD DA’s efforts to keep him caged for his convictions and refusal to cooperate, TC has been released! Support for our comrades inside doesn’t end once they’re out- and he needs our solidarity now more than ever as he settles back into his city, finds work and helps raise his kid. Let’s show him some love and remind him how much he means to us! Please donate and share widely.

Black August is a month of reflection, education, and action dedicated to honoring Black freedom fighters, political prisoners, and resistance movements—especially those connected to the prison abolition and Black liberation struggles. It began in California’s San Quentin State Prison, started by incarcerated members of the Black Guerrilla Family, including activists like George Jackson, who was a revolutionary and political prisoner killed by prison guards on August 21, 1971. The month also commemorates the deaths and resistance of other figures such as: George Jackson – Member of the Black Panther Party and co-founder of the Black Guerrilla Family. Author of Soledad Brother and Blood in My Eye. He was assassinated in San Quentin on August 21, 1971 Jonathan Jackson – George’s younger brother who tried to free the Soledad Brothers in a Marin County courthouse on August 7, 1970. He was only 17 when he was killed.
