Wokie leftie. Cat dad. Be nice, be kind, but be suitably ruthless when dealing with gammons. Just finding my groove on here and hunting for the excellent folk I once followed on Twitter (lots of ‘em I’ve now found!). Joined 15.11.24. UK.
I kinda knew this would tip into you being rude at some point. I could sense you thought you were smelling blood. Thought you were cornering me and getting ready to pounce.
But honestly, I’ve been circling you. Now just leave it. Off you trot and go bother some gammons.

In your opinion. As stated, I’m not here to apologise for anything Newsom does or says.
Your posts have veered into whataboutery and by default, imply I agree with everything Newsom does.
You have chosen not to comment on the Guardian’s actual post, which my thread is about. But you know that.

I’m not here to apologise for anything Newson has done or thinks. I was clear I was referring to his use of satire as a response to Trump’s nonsense posts and comparing it to how successful that has been in comparison to what the Guardian appear to be attempting.

Gavin Newsom’s comm’s team are, IMO, using satire quite successfully in their soc media posts to fight fire with fire. This has the effect of helping to create a culture where people believe there is a way to fight back against Trump et al and their outrageous claims and actions. I applaud that.

… and it’s a shame as the appeal is for amazing charities.
You’ve forgotten that journalists should never be the story - you’ve made a satirical political point using Trump’s right wing slogan to raise awareness of the work of hardworking charities. The charity I work for would’ve said no to this.

I'm not convinced by the optics on this. Using Trump's slogan may be your attempt at satire, but you're no Gavin Newsom. And you've used a red similar to Trump's baseball caps.
All you've achieved is to make people analyse the message, rather than appreciate the message for what it means. Fail.

Oh do fuck off Streeting. You are way too in thrall to private healthcare. You’re no more Labour than my cat, and the leaves she chases in the garden have more believable sincerity in their veins than you do. (She’s Green, incidentally).

She’s on the right of the party, she delayed trans guidance to better help her deputy leader bid, she’s not vocally supportive of trans rights, she overruled MPs to push Starmer’s gender critical choice for EHRC chair.

You may agree with the ruling, but to suggest @jolyonmaugham.bsky.social as a KC with a proven commitment to holding power to account with the @goodlawproject.bsky.social is an idiot and a grifter for providing a measured and considered response to the ruling, which he does not support, is bad form
