On Friday, a U.S. District Court issued a summary judgment, ruling that the Trump administration's attempts to dismantle IMLS was unlawful, unconstitutional, and in direct violation of Congress' clear statutory directives.

The Oakland Museum has revealed that over 1,000 items from its collection were stolen from an off-site storage facility in October. The FBI believes the theft is a crime of opportunity and the museum is asking for help in retrieving the objects.

For the first time, the principles of ethical restitution have been applied to a work of art created by an enslaved person. The pottery of David Drake can be viewed in many history and art museums. The Museum of Fine Arts has announced its first restitution agreement with Drake's heirs.
