My browsing was a combo of the bookshop people offering me a stack because they knew me, random friends telling me about stuff and me just trying out books that jumped out at me. I discovered Eka Kurniawan because I randomly picked up "Vengeance is mine..." on a whim.

They have some spice as opposed to the plainness of the others.

Completely agreed. My work rolled out Macs instead of Windows. Everyone took a day to get up to speed porting their WSL setup etc. I took an hour (I timed it). Just had to port the config to darwin and I was good to go.
