Nice work, Maine!
Perhaps not the biggest news on a big night, but Maine voters resoundingly rejected limiting voter rights, and resoundingly supported a gun restriction bill.

This is me, Halloween 1980 (age 9). We did this two (three?) years in a row. Every year I asked to be Ace, but Ricky's sister Jo did the makeup, so he got to choose. Ah well, there's worse things than being the Catman!

There's lots of talk in the fandom about which era of KISS is the best. Crazy! They were 8 for 9, plus 2 killer live albums with Ace. They were 2 for 11 after he left. Later guitarists might have been 'better' (whatevs) but none of them had the thing. None of them were space men. -->

Over the years as my KISS fandom waxed and waned, I never stopped being excited by Ace. His persona was so ethereal, but his guitar playing was so chunky and grounded and raw and real. A self-taught axeman communing with the stars. Listen to the 1-2 punch of "Parasite" and "She" on KISS Alive! -->

My first love
My 6-10 year old brain wanted to know him, to be him, to understand how he thought, or what he thought. Still, to this day, until waking to the news this morning, I believed I'd meet him one day. Listening to him play guitar altered my brain space ⚡🎸🔥🚀 -->

RIP Robert Redford
All things must pass, but boy did I love watching that beautiful man onscreen. I can watch the Dahlberg scene on repeat. Willis’s shot is amazing, but the way Redford works the space, a diminishing space, and slowly ratchets his attention and intensity is just magnificent.

Happy 50th to this magnificent beast!
YMMV, but I reckon this album's as important to Gen-X rockers as the Beatles on Sullivan was to the previous era.
Just push play!

I watched a lot of movies growing up, but seeing Hal Hartley's TRUST at a midnight screening when I was 20 said something to me about both life and movies that changed the way I thought about both - it pulled at so many threads in me that I didn't know were connected.

Wrapped up recent holidays w/a quick visit to Cambridge. Son wanted to see Harvard, so I thought I’d also take him to see the Famine memorial in Cambridge Common. It’s been modified! #SpierGorm

Liz was amazing - her voice is so good, great band, and I just love so much that she’s still out here rockin it. Mostly older tunes, and they still hit so hard!
