on the publication of this book. It documents a bleak part of hidden Irish history that affected so many of our families but was not openly acknowledged.

So now let's list and name the companies that build defective homes despite the standards of the day ? #homes #housing #Dublin - there's some big names and current builder-developers in that list
It's buried in story but its builders/developers, who build defective homes, cut corners for profit on fire safety so today tax payers and residents pay the price. Developers not facing penalties, and some building today and being rewarded with incentives #spéirghorm

20,000 apartment owners waiting for fire safety grants
The owners of over 20,000 apartments and duplexes built during the Celtic Tiger years have been waiting more than two years to receive grants for urgent fire safety works.

All the talk of Irish ppl being kind, welcoming & loving is wiped out by state record on #MentalHealth

There is enough money in Irish state accounts yet we allow our people to live in mental distress, uncared for in health systems & die by suicide?

We need deeds, not words🤦🏽‍♀️

#spéirghorm #IrishPol
Hundred of patients died by suspected suicide shortly after being in contact with healthcare services in Ireland, @investigates.thejournal.ie can reveal.

The fight must continue for safe, legal, local abortion to be accessible for all in need. The Irish government should deal promptly to address the recommendations of the abortion review report to adopt international best practices e.g. no more mandatory waiting days before treatment can commence.

Concerned about the number of unplanned pregnancies in Ireland? Then join in pressing the government to promptly extend the free contraceptive scheme to women aged 35+ years, also to improve the distribution and availability of free condoms for all.

Latest figures available reported 507 women living in County Galway accessed abortion treatment in 2024. All individuals with their own personal stories they each made decisions on the right action for themselves. Repeal gave power back to women to choose = real progress in women’s healthcare.

Ongoing siege of Gaza, esp. lack of aid supplies getting through, plus targeting of healthcare facilities since Oct. 2023 has put girls and women at high risk of problems in their sexual and reproductive development, and complications affecting their fertility and pregnancies.

Barriers to accessing abortion since 2019 include the mandatory 3-day wait. This has resulted in women/pregnant people being denied timely reproductive health care, forcing some to travel abroad for care. We all deserve to be able to access safe abortion care at home.

The Joint Oireachtas Health Committee approved findings of O’Shea's review of Abortion, including removing mandatory 3 day wait. The Committee was anxious for all recommendations of the review to be ‘implemented without delay’. Why won't the government pass the necessary legislation?!

If someone asked you how to find out about the rules around abortion in Ireland, would you know where to direct them to?

Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Bill 2026: First Stage in the Dail yesterday. Ruth Coppinger TD moved
that leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the 2018 Act to abolish the 3 day waiting period for abortion on request. Agreed to, so on to the second stage!

This is what autonomy looks like!
Choosing whether to have an abortion by considering what’s right for you, your body, your life, and your future.

Some of our AAC members have been involved in helping women access abortion for over 40 years. We shouldn't have to be doing the same today. Free, safe, local, legal, accessible abortion for all who need it---everywhere!

While warfare severely affects entire populations, women and children bear specific consequences. Historically warfare erodes the rights of women and girls.

The official review into the Ireland's abortion law recommended an increase in the provision of abortion services across the country. Important to increase the number of community and hospital staff providers to improve access to these services. Removing medics from criminal sanction would help too.

Texas USA faces elections in March 2026!
Women are being denied essential healthcare in that State. Women there are dying as fear of criminalisation prevents doctors from intervening in a crisis pregnancy. More pregnant women from minority communities dying in Texas as abortion made illegal there.

It is past time for the government to remove barriers to abortion access caused by delay attributed to the mandatory 3-day wait. Why does the Irish Government think it knows better than the WHO? Trust women to know their own minds!
