His opponent, André Ventura, founder and leader of the far-right Chega party, garnered more votes than in the May 2025 parliamentary elections, and has established himself as a key figure in the country's political scene.

1. People struggle to reconcile Keir Starmer’s ruthless ambition, Machiavellian manoeuvres, breaking of promises, collaboration in genocide, bans on protest, aid cuts, benefit cuts and war on nature with his history as a human rights lawyer. But perhaps there is no contradiction.

So you had a dual stitch up — the Russian/American oligarchs around Farage and Johnson, and the Russian/American oligarchs around Mandelson. Leave or remain, they didn’t want their contacts investigated. So Brexit went ahead.

I get how MAGA worked in 2016, but only Epstein explains why all the tech bros coagulated around Trump in 2024.
Epstein's money, his Silicon Valley/Russian-backed libertarian eugenicist ideology, survived his demise
Thread starting with 🚨 TWO SHOCKING FACTS: Epstein was in direct contact with Putin, boasting of personal invites to St Petersburg. He co-owned Thiel’s Valar Ventures w/ Ehud Barak, backing Israeli surveillance firm Carbyne. 1/12

I would argue that the same phenomenon occurred with Occupy Wall Street. They spoke about the 1 percent, globalisation, people wore the obey merchandise, don't trust the corporate media. Suddenly we have Trump talking about fake news, the globalists & the system being rigged. Cue MAGA.
"Return to tribalism", "Brexit, just the beginning"

I remember the Lexit discourse and what it taught me was a left-wing analysis of liberalism can help the right in the absence of a global & national revolutionary working class.

But all of these fixes just obscure the fact that the poverty of those at the bottom is a direct consequence of the wealth of those at the top. graceblakeley.substack.com/p/the-uk-is-...
The UK is a rich country built on mass poverty
Record levels of very deep poverty expose the true cost of austerity, inflation and the concentration of power at the top.
