Drew a new Ariados girl - and she seems happy to see you 'v'

Do be a bit careful though; some of her webs are poisonous!

An anthropomorphised, humanoid Ariados, looking back towards the viewer while her back is turned. She has primarily red skin though her arms become purple and yellow starting at the elbow, and she still retains the usual colours on the abdomen as Ariados itself has. The two pseudo-legs on the abdomen also remain from Ariados' design, but lay flatter in the picture. She has purple sclera, much like Ariados itself, and a spike on her forehead. She also has blonde hair, tied back with two purple hairbands in a way that vaguely resembles Ariados' legs.

Mainly wanted to make this since, while I have drawn an Ariados girl or two in the past, I didn't feel like either really captured the resemblance well enough and wanted to give it another go, and what better month to try?

She's generally quite friendly but her spider-y appearance and nature do tend to freak people out a bit. I'd also recommend being careful around her webs; some of them may be poisonous - but I don't think she'd use those on a potential new friend

Hey! Blurp Girl!

After a lot of back-to-back chaos it's time to unwind and just chill with Splounders... and Zee as well!

Big, squishy, and rather friendly. Great for just sitting on while they do their thing (usually swimming aimlessly) 'v'

Zee (left) and the Blurp Girl (right) sat upon two Splounders while a third swims nearby in the background. Everything seems calm this time, with the Splounders looking happy while Zee sits upon one and the Blurp Girl lays atop another, kicking her legs.

Big fish that tend to just... float aimlessly around. Usually found near the surface, but capable of travelling to deeper depths if they desire. Typically harmless, mainly appearing as more of a nuisance than an actual threat. Also, despite their name, they appear more like a catfish than a flounder...

Originally the Blurp Girl didn't think too much about them. They simply just... swam around a bit. However, upon learning they were super squishy and rather friendly, she instantly fell in love with them. She's always happy to see them nowadays, and they seem happy to see her too 'v'

Today's search is for the legendary Dossunmengyo (or Thwomp-Faced Fish); a chimera of sorts said to have been created by a chaotic force that fell upon the mushroom kingdom long ago

They say few have seen it... and that fewer still lived to tell the tale...!

Blurp Girl, clutching the rapidly-sinking remains of a small wooden boat. Behind her, the culprit behind her current predicament; the legendary Thwomp-Faced Fish!

A creature born of a chaotic force that fell upon the mushroom kingdom long ago, or so they say. Its encounter chronicled in a book from times passed (in this case, Super Mario-kun Volume 9). Many sailors have hoped to encounter it, whether to simply catch a glance or to catch the beast itself, but attempts have almost always failed. Some are sceptical as to whether it even exists!

Blurp Girl didn't intend to find it; instead it found her! Perhaps she strayed into its territory... but whatever she did she should make herself scarce since that stony sea monster seems anything but friendly!

Back to the deep oceans to find a school of Rip Van Fish... and a bonus appearance from @randomriot.bsky.social fish girl, Zee, as well!

Known for their sleepiness, they REALLY don't like being disturbed during nap time. Probably a bad time to say 'hello' then...

Blurp Girl attempting to greet Zee, RandomRiot's fish girl, who was sleeping amidst a school of Rip Van Fish. She's successful at waking her up, and she waves back drowsily.

Rip Van Fish are known for their sleepiness; spending most of their days conserving energy as they nap on lake beds and oceanic caves. The problem, however, is that they are easily disturbed from their sleep by noise or motion, and are typically very aggressive for a while upon waking up, so it's always advised to be cautious around them.

She finds their sleeping faces very silly so she likes to watch them nap, but she's not very good at keeping still and quiet as she does so. Once they wake up she often finds herself having to make herself scarce, which is unfortunate.

Blurp Rating (Rip Van Fish):⭐️⭐️⭐️

The follow-up, where the Blurp Girl's careless greetings cause the Rip Van Fish to wake up. Worse yet, it appears more of the school was napping just out of sight, and now various pairs of glistening eyes are watching and approaching from the darkness. Zee, RandomRiot's fish girl, simply freezes mid-wave and waits awkwardly for them to calm down... hopefully...

I mean, Zee is here, and she IS a fish, and it would surely be wrong of the Blurp Girl to not acknowledge her, right?

At the same time, it's not nice to rank and rate friends like that... but the ranking system is already set up... oh well, there's an easy solution to this:

Cheep Cheeps; probably one of the most common species in the mushroom kingdom's waters

They come in all sorts of colours and varieties and are quite tame, so regardless of their simple appearance there's always room for spectacle 'v'

Blurp Girl, being circled by various Cheep Cheeps while she poses happily on the sea bed. Starting from the leftmost Cheep Cheep in the circle and going anti-clockwise we have: Eep Cheep (Yellow), Super Mario World Cheep Cheep (Brownish orange), a 'basic' Cheep Cheep (Red), one from one of the Mario and Luigi games (Purple), one using the colouration from Mario 3's Fortress levels (Blue) and an alternate Cheep Cheep colour scheme now mostly seen on Deep Cheeps (Green)

Cheep Cheeps are simple, most just swim around all day in the water rather aimlessly, and while their appearance is simple there is a large variety among their species regarding colouration.

Simple as they may be, she can't help but admire how carefree they appear, and the large varieties make no two schools truly alike.
