One of the hardest things in game design is discarding a system, especially one you love. My game, for instance, was a strange type of single-room brawler. However, that was a space that didn't allow much creative expression, so I had to scrap the concept entirely and expand the game world. 1/4

I have finally coded the melee attack system for my game T.I.M.E.! By generating a seed from the current day of the year, each enemy selects an animation and automatically balances its own custom attack based on its powerlevel. Finishing this puts me startlingly close to release. #indiedev #T.I.M.E

Sometimes, I break my consistent routine of devving because I think I need to "do other things" and "have more than one hobby" and then I dev for more than an hour, and I realize that this a silly notion and I need not do anything else with my life. #indiedev

I'm of the mind that balance is a misleading term when making single player games. Balance isn't making the enemy and player always perfectly matched. So long as nothing feels unfair or nonsensical, it's probably fine. Stop asking if your game is perfectly balanced; start asking if it's fun to play.

My game, T.I.M.E., is based on the real world clock. Now, I'd never tested the game at midnight... And it turns out that the game just goes crazy then. The clock-adaptive background just broke. The spells were applying 4 different special conditions. It was wild.

I've been meaning to redesign her to have a more normal color palette for a while now, but I'm oddly attached to that sweet lil face

Somedays its just like someone just made a LRRL instead of an LSRL of my brain and it's in the totally wrong direction but hey those residuals sum to 0 and everything is awesome MY FRIEND THE SQUARES SUM TO 4 MILLION THIS IS NOT ALRIGHT

I do not have ADHD I just can't focus because I'm always thinking about other random topics and I never finish books or shows because something else grabs my attention and I'm playing like 5 different video games at the same time and working on more projects than I can possibly do.

I'm confused how to spend my time and stuck in a consistent and repeating loop of gradually rising panic, but every day where I legally exist is a victory.
Even if I'm getting that victory from a loophole in an executive order that says we're *all* nonbinary.
