Legal question: if the tariffs are thrown out, and they order payments refunded, does Trump also have to return the personal gifts he extorted from foreign governments?

I don’t understand why the house (and senate) need to vote on the Epstein stuff.

Trump can just release it, right?

Unpopular opinion: “clean” CRs should always pass.

The only valid issue to force a shutdown over is a law to prevent all future shutdowns with default funding.

I’m assuming 2025 tax year refunds will be paid in Tump Coin.

We should:

Grow the house, to like 5,000 members

Mandate multi-member districts of 5-10 members

Require district boundaries be one or more whole counties (or burrows!)

Require STV for the voting

"Lotteries and ritual stoning are integral parts of American life. Whether or not the lottery actually increases the yearly harvest, rural working-class Americans think it does. Let me be blunt: liberals who want to abolish ritual murder are the reason that Donald Trump won."
Stoning Our Neighbors to Death Makes the Corn Grow High, and Elitist Liberals Should Stop Attacking This Traditional Value
Since Biblical times, stoning people to death has been a horrible punishment reserved for the worst criminals. But now, in PC liberal America, the ...

What do people (in particular, reporters) think the difference is between the words “center” and”epicenter”?

TV show pitch

Genre: police procedural

A short balding man who can smell the future joins a small rural police department to solve crimes.

IMO, both parties should always be willing to approve a “clean” CR

@governor.ca.gov Sinclair has several stations in CA. Surely they can’t be in full compliance with all state laws, can they?

@schumer.senate.gov how big a bag of magic beans will you accept to fund the government this time?

Do we really even need the FCC? Except at state borders, can’t the states regulate broadcast TV and radio? Do California and Alabama need the same rules?

Is RFK Jr the first former cocaine dealer to be a cabinet secretary, or was that someone under Bush 2?

What determines if food tastes good? If your head was somehow transplanted onto a pig body, would pig feed seem disgusting?

I’m surprised Trump has not renamed the Republican Party as the MAGA party.

Important piece debunking myths about SB 79: “Taken together, Park’s arguments lean heavily on fear, distortion, and NIMBY reflexes. Wildfires, tsunamis, ‘one-size-fits-all’ rhetoric, claims of protecting equity, and the bogeyman of developers all obscure the facts of SB 79.”

They should really release the Epstein tax returns. How did he build such a large fortune?

I wish the media would stop saying that the fed “sets rates”

They set some rates, but they don’t directly impact most people. The fed influences the rates that matter, but lots of things (like a weird crazy president and irresponsible budget) can influence them more.

Assuming the funding cut goes ahead (seems like a safe bet), is anyone keeping a list of NPR stations that need help?

I would be willing to join an extra station as a member to help out.

Is it illegal for the president to “bribe” a member of congress to vote for his bill?

I suspect not.

I don’t understand all the talk about an investigation into the signal fiasco.

Everyone (both side) knows what happened: a bunch of incompetent and careless people were chosen for their personal loyalty, not ability.
