It’s finally ladybird move in day here in NY. Approximately 150 have moved in for the winter so far, but only one showing signs of Hesperomyces. We typically see more and more infections over the next few weeks. #TeamLabouls #Laboulbeniales
Nothing to see here, just posting a spicy photo on the Internet. 😹 Chalciporus piperatoides from New York.

I wonder if it’s fruiting so aggressively in this drought because it’s parasitizing a muscaroid that’s struggling?

It’s abject stupidity, it just drives the creation of workarounds.
I can push junk commits that look like work from a cron job for gitprime, AI users will similarly waste resources to check a task box with minimal effort while not actually achieving the productivity increase the metric wants.
I hope quoting is less “let me tell you what to do” than replying but a thought:

There’s nothing free from companies like Google. We’re just not charged at the point of use.

It would be in all our interests to not BandAid and Kleenex that brand of Internet search engine anymore.
Google is free!
Yah… no.
This is a stretch of a spin even for Forbes.
Yes. Laetiporus cincinnatus to be specific
AFAIK yeah they are, and like I am comfortable it’s not in the breeding group with any of the major invasives (unless I’m way off and it’s closer to R.rugosa?).
But I’m just nerdy enough to go get it DNA barcoded if I can’t establish a good enough ID. Gotta have an accurate catalog of the garden :)
Yeah, but they’re not doing well for pink double roses unfortunately.
Getting suggestions from them around Rosa majalis but there’s so many options in that group and each one I’ve keyed it out to in Erlanson’s key has been missing a notable feature, not that I’ve much experience keying roses.
Back to ad hominem.
This is a pretty boring thing. It can’t even troll effectively, just keeps repeating the same ineffectual crap.
Oh well, let’s go find another one; maybe it’ll have something akin to working cognition.

I see this stuff all the time: Young guys insisting Democrats - who just last year had a football coach running for vice president - are telling men not to watch sports.

Just completely made up.
I said logos, not pathos.
Try again.

Caution… don’t take while hungry.
Also, I’m nearly convinced it overweights the Mac and cheese varieties.
First time I took the quiz I was all… yes all the Mac and cheese, and all the dials were turned like all the way up.
Aww, it thinks I’m a lib…
Yup, it’s not even as smart as the average chat bot.
Inferior.
Strike two.
Maybe it wants to make more stupid guesses showing us it can’t think for itself and just repeats platitudes, or maybe it will try that logos thing…
Or maybe it will just give us a recipe for blueberry muffins.
It’s about what things at its cognitive level are useful for.
See, all it can do is parrot stuff its heard from boomer media. It can’t even make contextual arguments.

Maybe we should ask it about blueberry muffins, but I’m pretty sure its not even that smart.
Aww, one of those poor people the GOP victimized when they wrecked public education. Sad to see it can’t get two neurons to fire in a row unless it’s for ad hominem so I thought I’d offer it some in kind.
Maybe it can try some logos… not sure it knows what that is. It’s all sad little pathos.
Any #rose enthusiasts out there that can help me identify this #plant?
Found in New York at a remote cabin foundation where there were most likely German immigrants in the early to mid 19th century.
I have a cutting growing I can get more info from; but the old stems are pretty pruinose.
🌱
I think so too, but after Secret Origins she went from a Rappaccini’s Daughter trope to a less literal kind of poison.
I mainly see your plant posts, are you a comic reader too? I’m digging newest Poison Ivy run, some of the covers sorta look more Toxicodendron. I really liked Feral Trees crossover.
Is it the Dr. Lillian Rose or Dr. Pamela Isley thing?
We can blame Neil Gaiman for this.
We have a few different columbines in the garden. The straight native Aquilegia canadensis, a few dwarf party mix hybrids to suck up the leaf miners and add some color, and this one Bulgarian Columbine I domesticated from where it was found during an invasive weed cleanup event.

Visited a little patch of pink lady slippers
A spider that helps with pest control around the house, and some Gliophorus around the homestead today.
Bog Beacons! One of my favorite #fungi this seasonal stream was full of Mitrula elegans today. 🍄
The Agrocybe like our lavendar bed too.
Some Iris have started to bloom
