Okay, time for a real introduction…

My name is Zack and I’m a huge nerd who loves talking about video games, film, television, books, and all sorts of art/entertainment. I also run a video game review blog called Sight-In Games (link in bio).

Let me know what you’re watching/playing/reading!
Spent tonight’s session grinding, picking up some new skills by changing vocations (classes), and knocking out my backlog of podcasts while doing do. Going to work on more story progress next session 👍
I’m about to put some *nasty* hours into Dragon Quest III to try and get it wrapped up before Resident Evil Requiem. Wish me luck 😅

It’s finally a warm enough day to open the windows, plus the snow/ice has melted enough that I can go for a walk and not worry about falling on my butt and getting covered in slush. It’s a good day!!!

I know people love to complain about this Disney era of Star Wars, but I’ve enjoyed most of these projects and think this looks like an absolute blast!

Based on my history with the genre, I should’ve quit Nioh 3 by now.

But near the end of the demo, something finally clicked. It made me realize what I’d been missing in other soulslikes.

That adrenaline rush when you beat that seemingly impossible enemy. I might finally get it.

And I want more 👇
I’m Not a Fan of Soulslikes. Why Is Nioh 3 Working for Me?
I usually bounce off soulslikes, but something in Nioh 3 finally made the challenge click. Here’s why I might actually finish this one.

MIO: Memories in Orbit is a beautiful Metroidvania crafted with many of the same philosophies as Hollow Knight.

Sometimes thats a good thing, and sometimes it's not.

My review.

MIO: Memories in Orbit Review- It’s Not You, It’s MIO
I’ve had several discussions in the past few years about the term “Metroidvania,” and if it should still be how we reference games in that particular genre. The Metroid series isn…

9th Film Watched in 2026 - Eternity (2025)

Woof, I did NOT like this one. The whole concept of “which spouse would you spent the afterlife with?” is handled so poorly and none of the characters have chemistry with each other. One of the most unromantic rom-coms I’ve ever seen.

Tokyo Scramble delivers nerve-wracking thrills while sneaking about from dinosaurs and giddy grins with its campy narrative equally. A stealth puzzle game at its core, there is much to love for fans of the genre.

One final bump for the evening crowd!

Thanks to all those who took the time to read this earlier! This was a lengthy one to get out, but I’m happy with how it turned out. 😊
Alright, here’s my thoughts on everything we saw at the State of Play!

This was one of the best showings Sony has had in years, and there were SO MANY fun games to write about!

Enjoy!!

Just finished the demo for Darwin’s Paradox and I’m calling it now: this is going to be one of the surprise hits of the year.

This playful and silly mix of stealth, platforming, and puzzles makes for one of the best demos I’ve played in years. If you have a PS5 then you need to play it ASAP.

Just finished the demo for Mina the Hollower.

A challenging but fair throwback to the action-adventure games of the 80s and 90s. Loved the retro visuals, combat, and digging mechanic. I also didn’t play Shovel Knight, so I wasn’t aware that Yacht Club Games was on this level.

I didn't expect to write this article. Yesterday's State of Play was only faintly on my radar.

Then Sony went and delivered one of the best SoPs that I've ever seen.

Tons of big surprises and excellent looking gameplay. Here are my 10 biggest winners.
