JRPG fans are very passionate, so I see them reference great games from the past all the time. I feel like there aren't tons of "forgotten gems" out there.

But if I had to come up with a list of my favorite JRPGs that never get talked about, it's probably these 4.

Commanders Niall. Honestly, I didn't even try it very many times. I could tell immediately it was going to be brutal and I just felt done with the game in general at that point.

Man. I *like* all of them. The skulls though I think are my fave because I like everything skill even before buffs. All the other weapons have at least one attack that im not as into.

I loved the weird circus thing and pretty much everything else was just a slog to me.

And that sounds nice but losing valuable characters would make me so annoyed from a combat perspective!

I plan to play FF8 this December/January. And maybe RDR2 and Returnal time permitting. I'm excited about it!

Abandoning games is not something I do lightly anymore. But there was a time (before I started game hopping more), when I would do it way more often.

Just had a Hades 2 run where...

-I had a 47% chance to dodge enemy attacks over 3 boons + my familiar.
-I restored 10 health on any dodge + 30% of any damage taken
-I had the healing hex fully maxed out

Felt almost unfair. This game is so fucking good.

100%. I think i got so sick of not finishing some of these games that I somehow flipped a switch in my brain but it was not easy.
