Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

Without reading the article, I'll guess that it's either because it cuts into profits too much, or it takes too much effort. But my money is on "cuts into profits too much".

Absolutely. The hospitals aren't going to advertise or admit when they've sold out to corporate control. They'll keep all the signage & outward appearances exactly the same as long as they can... as if dedicated clients can't immediately tell that the quality of care & service has plummeted.
