the prob w/ rushed #ai browsers like the new OpenAI #atlas is the reliance on #prompt #injection prone #llm that have plenty #security #risk. To be fair all llm #vulnerable to adversarial content. The prob: no good way to stop them yet & web browsers hav a lot personal info & risks are much bigger

AI #Apple #server news logic after more enterprise use in ai loads due to simpler integrated platform simplicity, unified mem & cost
imho chaotic #AI PC wild west where each HW maker doing own thing like no unified memory to slowly become more an issue unless clean up their act (memory, APIs...)

Always pondered why Google never shared custom #ai #tensor processor? #Anthropic deal logical as #AI scales: increases #cloud footprint in field w/ only NVIDIA & moves them further down Gartner #cloud quadrant. AI competition heats up for nvidia: expect more cross licensing/ #partnerships in #tech

Hopefully it's the end of a few bad decisions where #Intel Corporation took a few bad turns after the 64 bit transition which likely enticed #Apple to jump chip. There needs to be more competition both in the classic #computing cpu and #ai space

Hot take: You shouldn't need wifi & #cloud to sleep 😴. Too many "smart things" stop working when internet goes down. From #domotic switches to beds, they should all have at least limited functionality when servers are not available. Instead too many times they become bricks like in the #aws outage

make sure to patch apps, minimize footprint w/ threat modeling. In connected world all at risk/potentiel target even if just for lateral pivot

Hot take: dont use aws useast 1. closest to #aws dev hq= deploy there 1st= most #outage there 1st. likely don't need latest+extra latency not critical & Most use basic ec2+rds+s3

Have stuff ready to go in at least 1 other #cloud zone so can failover: hard setup but worth it: at least works degraded

I guess words like root cause, #DR, failover thrown all over the place w/ few surprised "but cloud never goes down"

Even big #cloud providers go down. should have planned #Disaster Recovery: hard & can't wing it in middle of outage (most times)

Been saying it for a while but seeing #phishing, #cyberattacks & #ransomware really out of control, likely to go up. Very problematic. Generative #ai use makes attacks a lot better & problem for typical anti-spam bayesian filters: attacks personalized- problem both for filters& acceptance

Seeing alarming trend of ppl trusting ai answers more than they trust field experts. I even see people discard facts people say just after chat w/ ai & often mistake #ai #llm for accurate curated #database facts
Beware: it's not because #chatbots (or human) eloquently phrase answer they're correct

I had one in each room & gave them away the day when I said turn off the Light to sleep and it replied "done. I also can give you a few ideas for Christmas shopping. This helpful "suggestions" you can't turn off unless you put it in kids mode are ridiculous.

#telecom industry has a habit of poor #network #security practice/ reacting slowly 🐌 in fast moving threat landscape. I really wish they'd take it more seriously

I personally find it funny but Arguably, you can describe how you want claude to talk to you in a prompt, including keeping it short, less emotional... anything you prefer and reuse that prompt file from project to project

No idea how far the WSL #FreeBSD port is but imho brilliant idea. sad how #BSD projects never took off & def would love them on #Windows Subsystem for #Linux
kinda wish #Microsoft pushed more than #Linux & others like #openbsd, maybe as alternative full #Virtualization

When #Phishing/ #socialEngineering at a high, It should not have to be said, don't give info to strangers on the phone, don't download random apps or even visit sites for your #security. Do your due diligence. Expect #ransomware and #socialengineering #security threats to increase

IMHO Mira Murati (ex #openai cxo) launch underwhelming after all Buzz/ Drama. I like how want to customize #ai models & wish her great success
Maybe missing something in Roadmap/ #vision but just don't see huge #market. Technically cool but They probably need a better story for their #product
