Telling that to sell the World Cup they have had to bring in hockey, American football, basketball stars to the draw. Where are the football legends?

An hour after the final whistle boos, I’ve got home from the match, had a hot shower and in bed with a hot water bottle.

Genuinely in awe of ppl who travel to OT from afar on a midweek night 👏

An excellent piece by Yasmin Khan in @theguardian.com – and I’m very relieved the preposterous case against her has been dropped. www.theguardian.com/food/comment...
I called my recipe book Sabzi – vegetables. But the name was trademarked. And my legal ordeal began
The granting of patents and trademarks to foods and words from the global south is part of a long colonial grab. It’s time to realise we share what we cook, and what we call it

Suffered the same fate, so I'm on the lookout for work. In my 6+ years at Forbes I covered EPL, especially Liverpool, Everton and Man City, international tournaments, and US soccer including lower leagues. I'm uniquely placed ahead of 2026 World Cup given my reporting history and areas of expertise.
Personal news. I will no longer write about German football for @forbes.com. More below 👇

I remember us all gathering in the school hall and the telly on wheels being rolled in to show us the live broadcast of the raising of the Mary Rose ⚓️
What a treat to see the Tudor warship the Mary Rose today. It sank in 1545, lay hidden under sediment for centuries, and was raised in 1982. It’s astonishingly intact, with thousands of artefacts telling the stories of everyday life (including SO MANY nit combs). If you’re near Portsmouth, do go!

This is madness.

All books by Normal People and Conversations with Friends author Sally Rooney set to be withdrawn from sale.

The 34-year-old Irish author says: “The disappearance of my work from bookshops would mark a truly extreme incursion by the state into the realm of artistic expression.”
Sally Rooney books may be withdrawn from UK sale over Palestine Action ban, court told
Rooney has said she intended to use royalties from her work "to go on supporting Palestine Action."

It’s especially ironic because the lecture is exactly about the ‘paralyzing cowardice’ of today’s elites.

About universities, corporations and media networks bending the knee to authoritarianism. /4

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Zirkzee and Mazraoui both look like players who haven't played much recently.

Gary Nev on Comms is right though, why no sub on already with the man advantage?

Remember when mourinho was real Madrid manager at OT and Nani got sent off? Sub on within minutes and shortly after they scored.
