AI coding models are great at producing *something* when asked. But to get exactly what you want is, thus far, impossible unless you're asking for something very common and simple. This also applies to AI art.

Recently had Cursor port a feature from one mobile platform to another for me. I wasn't expecting perfection, and it appeared to do an OK job and compiled and ran with only a little tweaking. I was impressed, but it then took me so long to clean up that I might as well have written it by hand.

The latest coding models are great for scripts and other relatively simple tasks and even do an impressive job at explaining/generating code for relatively niche tools and libraries. When folks want them to write entire features or apps, though, the cracks start to show.

Dont put words into my mouth about "first blood." Mutually assured destruction doesn't work with irrational parties. Hamas knew that Gazan civilians would be slaughtered after Oct 7th but they didn't care. They would similarly be happy to nuke Jerusalem despite the consequences.

I support an independent Palestinian state that has the rights of any country (incl defense) but we are far from being able to trust them with nukes. Hamas leadership showed their thirst for blood on Oct 7th and this evil Israeli regime has ensured that Palestinians will want revenge for generations
