Remembering that I grew up with John Glenn and Howard Metzenbaum as senators, but now I have the car salesman and Mr. Lint-for-Brains.
As an undergrad at Kent State in the 80s, I quietly used to think that if students weren't protesting, no one would have been shot. Then I heard Senator Metzenbaum speak at the 15th memorial, reminding us that protest is necessary and patriotic. It was transformational.

"Hollow Kingdom" is one of the reasons I started carrying bags of cat treats on my walk. I figure it couldn't hurt to befriend the neighborhood crows.
Body-shaming is bad, of course, and completely beside the point, but my fellow Ohioans, these guys are giving "Larry Householder," right?
In honor of the season, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

Mandatory mid-semester LMS migration.
I'm liking this just for the ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ.
I love to knit the feet, but hate the cuffs. During the pandemic, I unvented a tabbed, hemmed cuff I like for shorty socks, and I've never looked back.
"Let's do the fucking news"
Love the whole look, especially the knit tie. But come on, man—you're gay: you can tie a better knot. 😘
I've got the audiobook pre-ordered, but wonder if I can stand to wait until December.
"medammit," surely?
I have zero faith (no pun intended) that our reactionary legislature or doddering governor will move on this, but I signed anyway, and you can too.
Needed to burn off pancake calories from breakfast, so biked into the office for the afternoon shift.

(I do not work at iHeart; they're just the anchor tenant.)
It will. Non-compliance appears to block access to adult content (per moderation labels, I assume) and DMs.

Where do I report an attempted murder? Exhibit A: this text from my baby sister.
Completely True Story: when I worked there, the Grandview Library put signs almost identical to this in the stalls. Someone wrote, "What about poop?" on one (boys bathroom near Youth Services). I was sorry to take it down, because that's exactly what I was thinking.
Got carded at the liquor store yesterday. While pulling out my ID, I mused, "You know, I'm almost old enough to drink x 3."

I'm sure that there are people who voted for him for president more than once who are now deeply regretful about the situation they helped create, and I can only say that I have not the slightest iota of a smidge of a skosh of compassion for them.
I haven't knitted your pattern yet, but it looks like much easier assembly than others I've made. Might cast one on tonight if I can find sport weight in my stash.
Am I going to have to add you to my 'NSFW Knitters' list? 😆
These things were optional in the places where I had a say. Most of them were staff committee-instigated, not manager initiatives. And we didn't do Narcan: the police said they'd prefer we not.
Maybe the Monk and Robot novellas by Becky Chambers? They weren't my cup of tea, but I was impressed with the milieu.
