When we were deployed, some Afghans risked their lives to help us. Now Trump wants to send them out to be killed by the Taliban.

It’s a disgrace, a betrayal, and a decision that endangers future US troops.
Exclusive: The U.S. government asked a judge to deport a man to Afghanistan, where he expects the Taliban to kill him. Legal experts say the case could have consequences for Afghans the U.S. rescued and promised to support.

It’s a fun piece of music, but I certainly don’t need to hear it again for another year at least, lol! I hadn’t realize how many versions ended up in my possession over the years until recently, so I figured why not play ‘em all? Cool to hear the different artistic and technical choices.

There’s also the Ormandy from the mid-60s that I own on a surprisingly great sounding #cassette. It might sit between the Davis and 1954 Munch. Last is the Barenboim. Beautiful recording by Tony Faulkner, but a slog of a performance.
Because it’s the spooky season, I played every physical copy of Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique” I own. There are two versions by Munch and the BSO, one from 1954 and the next from 1962. They’re both amazing, but the ‘62 is my fave. The brilliant Davis on Philips is next. #VinylCommunity #classical
The obvious point was to eliminate the building asap before anyone could stop them. It’s too late. They treated the east wing like a shotgun shack standing in the way of a new casino. Is this really a surprise to anyone?

NEW: Trump’s DHS appointees have:
• Dismantled civil rights guardrails,
• Protected agents’ anonymity and encouraged them to wear masks,
• Threatened groups that stood in their way, and overwhelmed legal challenges to their arrests & tactics.

Can confirm that the new #NekoCase LP is brilliant.
I remember buying one of those super hits compilations on a cassette just a couple years after this song vanished from the charts specifically for this song. It included a bunch of less worthy one-hitters, but this one was the banger. This part of the tape became unplayable after I was done.
Oh this is cool. Thanks for sharing this.
This is why photojournalism and local news organizations matter. Powerful image.
“Planet Earth” is a wicked banger, and they apparently coined the term “New Romantic?” And yes, John Taylor is a beast on bass. Amazing debut album, such a fun era.
Haha, same!! Why on Earth is the Blonde so elusive on vinyl?! Their whole catalog needs this.
Played my copy tonight. ❤️❤️❤️
New vinyl reissue of Concrete Blonde’s 1990 masterpiece “Bloodletting” now spinning on the VPI in all its gothy dark rumbling glory. Why has the Blonde been so neglected on vinyl for so long? Let’s get the rest of their catalog reissued, please. #VinylCommunity

This is due to a law signed by Ronald Reagan and has nothing to do with this shutdown fight.

But consider this...

Emergency Medicaid spending in 2023 cost $3.8 billion — just 0.4% of total Medicaid spending.

Now what about the $20 billion taxpayers are giving to Argentina?
Leavitt: "When an illegal alien goes to the emergency room, who's paying for it? The American taxpayer."

My wife and I don’t watch much network these days, but CBS Sunday Morning has been our happy tradition for two decades. Coffee, light breakfast, and 90 minutes of long form pieces on art, music, culture, science, people-focused features and news. Hate to see it gutted, but feels inevitable
I don’t often agree with Catholicism, but this one is spot on.
