I thought lantern was Germanic — but it comes from Greek lampter ‘torch’ via Latin and French. As October nights draw in, it recalls scenes before electricity, lanterns carried into the dark. Read more: bit.ly/GEEwords

That is the great advantage of on demand training, it is not dependent on being online at the same time, so no worry about time zones. No late night or early morning training.

DLD is a lifelong condition and it does make lots of things more challenging. BUT once a person's needs are identified and they are supported they can thrive.

#DLDday is coming, so I’m starting a thread over a few days.

DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) is all about spoken language. Words and sentences are tricky for people with DLD. And people don’t grow out of it.

Even for people with DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) who lead ‘successful’ lives, the struggle persists. Others can’t see DLD and so don’t understand the effort required by people with DLD in things like everyday conversations #DLDday #DevLangDis @radld.bsky.social

Great tip was to engage children in activity FIRST & THEN talking. Kids love activity - they don't want to just sit & talk. Also, they wonder why we (adults) all ask them the same questions ... like what grade are you in? Do you do sports? (Yup, those are the questions I ask!)
