You look at today, and these women truly are leaving the game 10x better than when they found it. I think we're really at a point where the new gen won't be saying "there really was no opportunity for me growing up." My old heads, and even their old heads, paved the way for the new gen to lead 🥺🤧

These women, US and International trailblazers, really did come into the game when it was practically unknown. Even still today, you'll hear some players talk about growing up and "only being able to play with the boys bc there wasn't really much for girls."

The longevity of the NWSL even uncertain at one point after WPS. But look now! NWSL pro woso getting broadcast thru major streaming platforms & even national tv. There's a stadium specifically for women's soccer. Tens of thousands show up every weekend. Teams are worth MILLIONS. Expansion!

Also I don’t know where the legend is who used to pull all the CP23 film from all those NWSL games for years… but drop the full reel with, not just the goals, but sprints, the breaking ankles, the off the ball movement and all that shit that had all us diehard fans screaming “that’s my shoota!!!!”
