I'm pretty sure the Monroe Brothers built my house. We moved in two weeks ago and so far I've had to do a major molding repair and fix the kitchen shelves that didn't fit. Today, the bathroom sink sprung a massive leak. Ugh.

3 ounces Tanqueray London Dry Gin
1 ounce fresh Lime Juice
1/4 ounce Root 23 Cucumber Habanero Simple Syrup
All into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
Excellent.

Spent the morning helping make laulau for food insecure folks with a wonderful group of local people. What a fun and rewarding experience--and I also got to eat some of the results. Delicious! All of the ingredients were locally farmed or caught.

From now on, whenever I come back from the pasture during a rainstorm and scrape a stinking, gooey slurry of mud, horse manure and pig shit off my boots, I'm going to call that stuff SCHUMER. Don't track that SCHUMER into the house! Watch out for that pile of SCHUMER! You're full of SCHUMER! Etc.
