Well I slept through werewolf day (surprise). To make up for it, here's a snippet of a rough something from a while back. I rarely share my writing (that isn't Howling Howff related), but I'm working on a small novel. 🐺🐾

A classic Henry transformation (yes he's a bitten werewolf)
A short snippet of a transformation scene about a werewolf not having a good time. Henry hit the floor with a scream when his spine bowed in on itself, vertebrae pulling at corded nerves. He screamed and howled in anguish as adrenaline flooded his system in a desperate bid to dampen the agony whilst his body broke upon the floor. Ribs flexed outwards with the tearing of flesh and his protruding chest narrowed to a point, compressing lungs that struggled to inflate. A tangle of limbs pawed at the dirt floor, digits shed nails and wicked claws pushed through, palms crunching with a prolonged spasm when they were pulled back into a wilder shape. He thrashed, head slamming against the wall, suddenly blind when his skull flattened and he danced in seizure, blissfully unaware for a brief moment, until the pressure on his brain abated and slavering jaws split flesh once more. The thing- Henry, screamed until he physically couldn't, throat closing as vocal cords thickened, blood and saliva suffocating him. He collapsed in respiratory distress, a violent spasm forcing a wheezing rattle from struggling lungs as he lay suspended between life and death - until his windpipe suddenly stretched and he snorted blood halfway across the shed. Fur erupted across scarred, stretched and broken flesh, cloaking the monstrosity in a hide of brown and silver. Human cries turned to deep, throaty, moaning breaths as the last of its former flesh sloughed onto the floor. With the stench of piss and fear thick in the air, what was left of Henry dragged itself onto four legs, birthed once more.

It's still a heavy wip so I'm not sure honestly haha :D everytime I go back to it I change things. It's the story that started The Howling Howff so it's very heavy on lore, meaning I'm slooow

Yeah! I always wonder if there are insides on the outsides moments too where it goes wrong, like if the skin and muscle doesn't repair and the intestines just fall out. Similarly I'm exploring the half-stuck phase where they're just left in-between 😬
