I am a multi disciplinary, mostly fiber artist who uses only donated materials. Crochet, textiles, painting, and assemblage. ♻️What I do is called recycling, not upcycling. ♻️ https://www.wildchildfibers.com https://buttondown.com/wildchildfibers

Not an optimist or a pessimist but a secret third thing where you look up at the sky and scream a lot
I finished the last stitch on this crochet dress yesterday. Today I’ll weave in the ends, tag, and block it. If the sun comes out this weekend, maybe I’ll be able to take some pics. #crochet #oneofakind #crochetdress
Minus the scanning, that’s what I do with fabric. ❤️
Here’s Gandalf helping me write my upcoming newsletter. By helping, I mean that he immediately climbed onto my lap when I sat down and I now have to hold my notebook at jaunty angle and try to write. Of course I will sit here with him on my lap until he decides he needs to do something else. ❤️❤️
I made crochet blankets for everyone in my family, but the cats and dogs seem to use them more than anyone. Here are two of my four enjoying some snuggles this morning. #ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople
Saving all of my fabric, thread, and yarn scraps can become a bit chaotic at times. My studio cabinets and shelves are overflowing with bits and pieces that are tucked away in bags and totes. When I find time to bring some of that fiber chaos together, the result is infinitely calming. #zerowaste
Friendship bracelets I made from scraps. #zerowaste
Here’s some of what I made from the scraps I posted yesterday.
This handmade macrame carrot is his favorite toy. 🥰
New in the online shop
New top I made this weekend.
Hiking yesterday with this guy.
I used to make beaded necklaces all the time. Seemed like it was time to start again. This one was made from donated beads and handmade (by me) paper clay beads. This afternoon I plan on finishing some sewing projects and maybe working on a crochet cardigan. What are you up to today? #handmade
I finally managed to take some pics of some of the clothes I made this month.
Although I’m primarily a fiber artist who makes clothing and accessories, lately I’ve been delving into new ways to make useful objects out of discarded things. These objects were made from handmade paper clay.
I’m embracing the bright sun, blue skies, and snow this winter. It’s been beautiful. #winter
I finally have a newsletter! (cue cheers here) because it took me forever to accomplish this. It’ll be weekly, on Monday’s, with the first one coming out on February 3rd. Big thanks to those of you who already signed up. I’m excited. #newsletter

These two were no help, but look how cute they are.
