One of the people killed by Soldier F was a man who stepped out to help another of his victims as he lay dying in the street. He waved a white handkerchief as he did so. Soldier F shot him in the head. His name was Barney McGuigan and today his family had to listen to a judge acquit his killer.

Case in point: the Iraq Inquiry, which was highly inconvenient to the project of retaining the core of the New Labour briefcase brigade and continuing to invite Tony and Alastair on TV to promote helpful schemes, so it was simply binned the following day and never mentioned again.

You've highlighted a very important point.
Whether it be the police, CSE, Iraq, Covid-19, phone hacking, etc, you get an inquiry to give the semblance of redress, but it's a ruse, noone important receives the punishment that is due, and people wonder why Britain is so sick.

Here Lam explicitly sets out her proposal - which is official Conservative Party policy - to deport long-standing legal permanent residents who have *ever* claimed any benefit, including the state pension or child benefit (even if the child is British), or who earn less than £39K.

That's an interesting point. I hadn't thought of that. Of course, not every Israeli voted for Likud and its far-right partners (many detest them). That said, the government is legitimised by the democratic process.

I'm not saying I disagree with you. Israel is currently a self-proclaimed ethno-state: "Jewish and democratic." It might change in the future. I hope it does.

Depends on how you define democracy. There were a lot of people who thought Apartheid South Africa was a democracy! Democracy just means the rule of the demos, and it depends on who you include in that group.
