This has been a real fun late October for video game releases. World of Horror and Slay the Princess are both real swell and delightfully gross. (although with slay, come for the gross, stay for the Complex Feelings.)

Misericorde, a kinetic novel about a Murder Mystery Among Nuns, has a soundtrack which is totally a bop. Just so y'all know.

Finished The Quarry! Spooky interactive movie. Not nearly as scary as Until Dawn, but arguably stronger character writing, and hey, the black kid and the Asian kid had stuff to do. Some fun gay flirting and some elevated writing with the tarot go pretty much nowhere, but at least they're there.

On the one hand, crawling into the first little Morrowind dungeon is an Experience. Combat is a frantic scramble where only every other stab lands. You peel pieces of chitinous armor from the smugglers you have slain, you steal their valuable smuggled drugs, you free their slaves. You muddy out.

Every time I play The Fabulous Fear Machine, I feel like I'm reading an issue of EC Horror Comics. Even when there's nothing happening but tense dialogues.

Still failing to get back into the movie watchin business, but December's gonna be good. Just look at it! The Boy and the Heron, The Color Purple, and Poor Things.
